Overall we love the home. Our garage door wouldn’t open for a month and it’s been 7 weeks and some things from our walk through still haven’t been fixed. We were also told that no garages would be constructed across from ours but it looks like we might have been given false information
We waited for more than two years for our home to be built and got total of 5 new possession date. Got final possession date letter but only communicated with us two days before our supposed possession date. Our family was devastated but Kensington rectified the issue and tried their best. Otherwise we love our home,Kensington indeed a trusted builder who make sure your house is up to standard and excellent craftsmanship.

We suffered a 5-months delay. We have a higher expectation due to this long time delay. However, the defects are much more than we expected. Shower tube broke, closet door damaged, uninsulated windows, lots of scratches around the house, cupboard defects and dirts in drawers. Our unit should include AC, but there is no AC installed once we discovered when walk through. I suspect that if there is any quality assurance test before we went for walk through. Site manager did a good work on arranging the walkthrough follow-up and arranged a service time for us. It is just those follow-up service took us lots of time after possession, for example shower tube fixing spot is over 3 months. We overestimated a bit the quality of the brand of “Qualiqo”.
Overall happy with everything until we moved in. As we spent more time in the house we have noticed more and more deficiencies and missed opportunities. The drywall work on the ceilings need another coat of mud as you can clearly see the drywall butt joints. Ensuite tiled floor should have been heated. Front entrance should have been wider to the corner. The placement of the sump pit in the middle of what could have been a more useful space. The sump pit should have been placed under the stairs like most builders. The grading of the yard is towards the house and will need to be redone before the yard is finished. The concrete is already cracked before a complete season already. We purchased a spec home so we would have seen it but now living in it, these items are annoying.
We had Tony as a project manager and he was absolutely amazing to deal with. Franca in the design centre was also very good and very good at her job. The only complaint we have was after we paid getting things fixed through Donna was not as easy.

They took almost 2years and six months to build house and interest were going up continue that’s way still we living in apartment rather than our new home . Even later on we see many costs were extra as a first buyer we were no better idea what they are charging us extra . Very bad experience we loose our $35000 as a down payment
Kensington was a trustworthy builder that we were confident would build us our first home. They were generally responsive and answered our questions however they were not flexible with the design even when we requested reasonable structural changes during the window where we could make those requests like a tiled shower and changing the fire place.
