This Privacy Policy describes how Avid collects and uses Personal Data about you through the use of our Website, and through email, text, and other electronic communications between you and Avid.
Avid Ratings Canada, Ltd. (“Avid,” or “we,” “our,” or “us”) respects your privacy, and we are committed to protecting it through our compliance with this policy.

This Privacy Policy (our “Privacy Policy”) describes the types of information we may collect from you or that you may provide when you visit the websites avidratings.com, gosurvey.com, avidreports.com, and client.avidratings.com (collectively, our “Website”) and our practices for collecting, using, maintaining, protecting, and disclosing that information.

2. Children Under the Age of 18

Our Website is not intended for children under the age of 18 and children under the age of 18 are not permitted to use our Website. We will remove any information about a child under the age of 18 if we become aware of it.

Avid offers its customers services related to the home buying experience. As part of these services, we may receive your Personal Data from our customers and use and process it for their analytics, aggregation, ratings, and review purposes, and we may retransfer your Personal Data together with the disclosure of survey data to our customers for their analysis and their provision to homebuyers and homebuilders. 6. Choices About How We Use and Disclose Your Information

We offer you choices on how you can opt out of our use of tracking technology, disclosure of your Personal Data for our advertising to you, and other targeted advertising.

We do not control the collection and use of your information collected by third parties described above in ‘Disclosure of Your Information.’ These third parties may aggregate the information they collect with information from their other customers for their own purposes.

In addition, we strive to provide you with choices regarding the Personal Data you provide to us. We have created mechanisms to provide you with control over your Personal Data:

This opt out does not apply to information provided by Avid as a result of ordering or using our products or services.

7. Your Rights Regarding Your Information and Accessing and Correcting Your Information

You may review and change your personal information by contacting us using the contact information provided at the bottom of this Privacy Policy.  

You can review and change your Personal Data by contacting us using the Contact Us link on our Website or the Contact Information below. You may also notify us through the Contact Us link on our Website or the Contact Information below of any changes or errors in any Personal Data we have about you to ensure that it is complete, accurate, and as current as possible or to delete your account. We cannot delete your Personal Data except by also deleting your account with us. We may also not be able to accommodate your request if we believe it would violate any law or legal requirement or cause the information to be incorrect.

As described above, we may also process Personal Data submitted by or for a customer in regard to the fulfilment of our services. If your data has been submitted to us by or on behalf of an Avid customer and you wish to exercise any rights you may have under applicable data protection laws, please inquire with the applicable customer directly. Because we may only access a customer’s data as authorized by that customer, if you wish to make your request directly to us, please provide to us the name of the Avid customer who submitted your data to us. We will refer your request to that customer, and will support them as needed in responding to your request within a reasonable timeframe.

You hereby agree that your Personal Data will be transferred to, processed and stored on servers located in the United States belonging to Avid and/or its affiliates and/or third party service providers retained by Avid for such purpose. Whenever your Personal Data is transferred outside of the jurisdiction in which it was collected, Avid shall use contractual means and other safeguards with a view to ensuring that your Personal Data receives equivalent protection as that required by the privacy laws applicable in your jurisdiction.[MC3] 

8.              Do Not Track Signals

We currently do not use automated data collection technologies to track you across websites. We currently do not honor do-not-track signals that may be sent by some browsers.

Some web browsers permit you to broadcast a signal to websites and online services indicating a preference that they “do not track” your online activities. At this time, we do not honor such signals, but we currently do not use automated data collection technologies to collect information about your online activities over time and across third party websites or other online services (behavioral tracking).

9. Data Security

Information transmitted over the Internet is not completely secure, but we do our best to protect your Personal Data. You can help protect your Personal Data and other information by keeping your password to our Website confidential.

We have implemented measures designed to secure your Personal Data from accidental loss and from unauthorized access, use, alteration, and disclosure. We use encryption technology for information sent and received by us.
