I have two of the older models and have been working for over 10 years. Some improvements over the older model; biggest being a much quieter gas valve - no longer that loud clunk whenever the gas comes on. Having a timer means now I no longer have to manually turn the heater down at night and up again in the morning. I haven't tried the remote thermostat so I can't say how that is. The fact that it' s hard wired rather than wireless doesn't tempt me to buy it. The only thing that remains the same, (and this is where the old fashioned comes in) that I wish were changed is the water pan at the bottom of the unit. It's a real pain to pull it out and fill it with water. There's no way to tell how much water is in it either! There's gotta be a better way! And get rid of that constantly blinking LED!

I am have problems with the thermistor providing the correct room temperature. The temperature usually exceeds the setting by 4-6 degrees. My contractor has ordered an external thermostat to hopefully solve this problem.

We replaced our Rinnai heater with a newer model and moved the former to a cabin. Both installations were smooth; not much has changed over the years. We used the same installation instructions for the new and old models.

We love how quiet the unit is, stay cool surface and the warmth. We always froze when sitting in the room we installed the Rinnai.

It works well. No complaints. It might be cool to have it in a better color--like black or white, but it's fine. I love that I can add water to help with humidity in our dry climate.

We had a direct vent wall furnace installed in a suite we own about 3 months ago and the tent raved about how wonderful it was, so we got one installed in our house and agree with the tent that it is the best! It heats our whole house quite quickly and it’s such a wonderful warmth! Only thing I wish, is that we’d done it sooner.

I have installed 7 in an apartment building, 3 sizes. They are easy to operate. Puts out a lot of heat. Wish it had a lower temp setting below 55 for basement. Also wish I understood why the setback, which does go lower, can't be used as the primary thermostat.
