My main comment is the loudness of the unit when it fires. Max BTU output is 36,500 BTU’s but when it is firing it sounds louder than the 155,000 BTU Weil McLean boiler in my basement.

I love my heater. It is very quiet, heats my whole house, and is very economical.

Too much water is wasted waiting for hot water. It does not efficiently heat up well water because it is cold. It breaks every couple of months and is not reliable whatsoever. I’d love to put them in my rentals as hot water heaters but absolutely not.

Pretty easy to use, and puts out good heat, but thermostat settings are a bit hard to understand. It does not allow you to set a wake temp, then a daytime temp, and go to an evening temp, and finally turn it down to an overnight maintenance temp. It only has 2 time intervals to set heat temperatures, and although it says not to use the base setback temp as the overnight temp setting, that is the only way to maintain a low set point overnight. It also has the thermistor for reading the temp next to the floor, which is the coolest place, so when you set your set point you have to compensate for that. ie. if you want your room temp to be 68, you need to set the temp on the Rinnai to 65. Otherwise it works great!

Quiet and nice fan - Humidifier Tray is nice but hard to fill and see the water measuring line - Heater installed 10-27-2021 Yes it does meet my expectations - I like the removable metal filters - I have a problem setting the timers. When very cold outside the fan stays on all the time. Vent outlet had to be put above the heater because of snow outside. Don't know the best way to clean under the heater.

I Love the Rinnai heater I was a little apprehensive getting it being I live on a lake . I didn't think it would heat my place but it works great !I am thinking of getting a smaller one for another room that I have currently closed off

By upgrading to a newer unit, using propane rather than oil, I thought the overall efficiency would outweigh the difference in price between oil and propane. Unfortunately this has not proved out. I would not buy this unit again. The default is set at 60°, which means you cannot set the temperature lower than that without lots of reading of the manual. I Do more research.wonder why that is really, .....seems to just really help the propane company, Not the customer
If you do not buy from a rinnai dealer and have them install it, there is no warranty for labor.
