Replaced our Monitor kerosene heater with the Rinnai propane heater. This is our main heat source and we live in Northern New York in the tug hill region. This heater has been great, house is nice and warm and very efficient, from October to December 1, used 82 gallons of LPG. I huge cost savings when compared to kerosene! I would recommend this heater to anyone looking to make a change.

Had it installed by Home Depot on October 1st 2021, love the one button on/ off operation, love no pilot light to mess with, love built in humidifier, heats really well, it's quiet but haven't had it long enough to properly evaluate it's performance and reliability but so far so good.

The EX38 vented heater seems to have a basic design flaw. The blower was defective from day 1 and I could not use the heater. The replacement blower is scheduled to arrive in 6 weeks. The out of balance blower fan is the problem. There are many complaints about this problem in the reviews of this heater. The blower consists of two fans on two shafts that extend out from the motor. The shafts only have support (bearings ) on the motor side. It should have support on both sides of the shaft for each fan. Take a look at the diagram in the owner's manual.
The Rinnia lp direct vent was easy to install once the proper accessories were acquired.

I had a Rinnai 38 series installed in my basement about two months ago to supplement my heat pump system. It is fantastic ! It keeps my heat pump from turning on the full electric heater elements which consume 20KW of power. My basement used to be about 2 degrees cooler than the main level; now it is as warm as upstairs. The unit is not too noisy and I like that it is thermostat controlled so it comes on and off to maintain a set temperature.
