Of course the feature I like the most is never running out of hot water! Most people don’t realize however that it doesn’t mean instant hot water; it takes perhaps even as long as half a minute sometimes to get warm to hot water. Also, you must realize that in the winter that should you lose power for an extended amount of time under subfreezing temperatures; you will have to manually drain the pipes. This has led me to also investigate getting a whole house generator as I am not mechanically minded and this seemed daunting to me. I think the users manual could be just a little better in terms of explaining how to do this process. Still, I am very satisfied with the performance and I’m glad I have it!

Nice to have a Hot Shower in a matter of minutes. Not having a big clunky unit taking up space in the house and having to be concerned with it leaking. The unit is physically attached to the exterior of the house and can be flushed in a matter of minutes. This is our second unit in 10 years It's Awesome!!

I have had it for 8 months and never run out of water. The only thing is it is a little noisy. I opted to not add a pump and timer to it. I think I will add at a latter date and see if that eliminates the noise when in use

I like the tankless unit. My only advise for others is make sure the installer and the plumber are one the same sheet of music. The water is hot but they failed to install a relay pump so that I do not have to wait three minutes plus for hot water.

This is my second Rinnai (new house)... they work great. My only issue is the lag time for hot water to get to the second story of my house. Maybe if they offered a booster pump or something (hint, hint)...

I've had the unit for about two months now and every day I think about how nice it is to have a steady stream of hot water. In my house, we routinely have two showers running simultaneously and one of them is a pre-water saver shower fixture. We have absolutely no issue maintaining hot water flow. I'm extremely pleased with the water heater.

So while I have not seen any changes in my utility bills (on the "energy" plan - same bill every month) I can take a nice hot shower in the winter without running out of hot water. The gas hot water heater does not need to heat the whole tank for one person any more - I have hot water when I need it.

This is our second Rinnai on demand external water heater. The first one we had for 15 years. We’ve had our second one for a few months now. We really like the type in temperature. And having the heat external to the home.

The downside to instant on water heaters that are mounted on the outside of the house is the amount of time to get hot water. The upside is that you never run out. The unit is compact and inconspicuous.
