Takes more than a gallon (4.5l) of water before it starts to warm up
The water is very hot at the recommended setting. We have had it for 10 months. Seems to be a good unit.

I really liked the tankless water heater when it was in full working order. It costs over $1,000 to purchase and more than that to have it professionally installed. Well, soon after having it for a little over 1 year, I heard a drip drip drip coming from the closet it was installed in. Sure enough, the heat exchanger started leaking water. Out water is not hard water, it is mild to moderate yet I still did the yearly vinegar flush. Called Rinnai but it was like talking to an insurance adjuster whose sole purpose is to save the company they work for money. Bottom line was: they send the part after a plumber diagnoses the problem (diagnosis fee for me) and over $600 for labor (not including miscellaneous fees). So to have a fully working unit after using it for a little over 1 year it would be close to $2,000. Nope, now I just turn off the water line that feeds the heater when not in use and turn it back on when I need hot water. I’ll keep doing this until the unit really cr@ps out and the I’ll just go back to the traditional tank heater that is sure to last 10 years or more without any problem as long as I do the routine preventative maintenance.
I have it about 6 years .. First five years I rent it then bought a new one! I like it ,, no Problem since we start using till now

We are very happy with this heater. We had another brand , well actually we had 2 of the other brand. The first one just kept quitting. They couldn't find out why, so the replaced it. After about 3 years the 2nd one started doing the same thing. They said the warranty had run out.

Tremendous reduction is space required to place unit is a major benefit. I’ve had it for 6 months and has exceeded my expectations for the household benefit and use.

The feature i like the most is it is built nicely along with the energy savings and small amount of space that the unit takes up. The only caveat is it takes the hot water a little longer to reach my faucets but that is something i can live with. Well pleased overall.

We purchased a new construction home with 6 bedrooms and 5 bathrooms and they installed a smaller Rennai with no re-circulator, we immediately called our local HVAC Rennai dealer and swapped it out with an Upgraded Rennai with the re-circulator. I love that I can schedule right on the app when want the water to recirculate (during the day) and not circulate (during the night,) The Rennai gives us immediate hot water in all locations in the house (all three levels) within less than 30 seconds. I would recommend Rennai to everyone and Chambers Plumbing and Heating for installation. They really know the Rennai system and have been available for any questions that I have had after the fact!
