Incredible to me that the propane unit I purchased has zero technical support. I asked about the type of regulator needed for the unit - you know, the thing that comes with any other propane device - and was told that the people who fill and sell the propane tanks (like the hardware store) have that information, not Rinnai.
Every time you r7n the hot water, you hear a noise of the heater coming on, which takes some getting used to.

We love our tankless hot water system. My husband is 80 and we purchased a safe step walk in tub requiring 75 gal to fill. Our 50gal water heater was not up to the task. With our new Rinnai tankless system he can enjoy his new tub whenever he wants with no problems!

Our tankless hot water heater was installed 7 months ago and it has been very reliable. We no longer worry about the old tankless water heater malfunctioning and appreciate always having hot water on demand. Having a simple compact unit on our garage wall is very convenient and efficient. The only reason I gave it 4 stars is because it is a little noisy when we are running hot water, but maybe they are all that way.

I have had my Rinnai tankless water heater for 6 months. The performance is excellent. Once the hot water reaches the fixtures it remains hot and the same temperature continuously. We can now take multiple showers in the house. It is easy to adjust the temperature settings. There is no maintenance this far.

At times, in the middle of washing dishes, the water goes from warm to ice cold for about 1 -3 minutes. I sometimes wonder if the unit was installed properly. We have owned it for 2 1/2 years.

This is the second Rinnai tankless hot water heater we’ve bought. We were so happy with the first one that when we moved, we wanted to get another one. We love that we don’t have to worry about running out of hot water and that we can use water sources simultaneously and not worry about anything running cold. It’s also a gas savings because we no longer have to have the gas running continuously for a pilot light like the usual water heaters.

We're on our second Rinnai Tankless Water Heater - two different homes. For the most part, it is fabulous. An important factor in its efficacy is its placement within the house. The first was installed in a 90 year old home directly below the kitchen and two of the three bathrooms. Then: almost instant and unlimited hot water. I could wake up, turn on the dishwasher and washing machine, then head for a simultaneous long, hot shower. So when we moved to another state, removing the huge water tank and installing another Rinnai was a first order of business. Unfortunately, the way the crawl space and existing water pipes here were originally set up, it had to be placed considerably farther away from kitchen and baths. So I try to run the initially cold water into a jug to water plants later until the hot water reaches the faucet. Maybe not so water efficient this way, but I still get my long hot showers. This is not a flaw of the Rinnai design, but rather working with a less desirable placement for the water heater. Something to consider. BTW, our tank is about the size of a large backpack, is mounted in the "crawl space" inside on the brick foundation; vents through the foundation. Quite tidy!

I love the Rinnai tankless water heater. But with the unit being inside my bathroom, all the pipes and things under unit look awful and takes away from the looks of the whole bathroom. So I found a Rinnai cover at Lowe’s and ordered it to come down farther and cover most pipes and then put the black insulated pipe covers to finish out the ones going all the way to the floor. Looks a whole lot better. I wish that the company who installed the unit had offered this service.
