We love the space it saves, the endless hot water, and the quality of the unit. The only downside is getting used to the length of time it takes for the water to get hot.

Very easy to operate. Like that we don’t need a large tank of water requiring constant heating. Dislike the wait time to get hot water to the furthest taps , but it’s not much longer than the old tank wait time.

We have had the Rinnnai water heater for about 10 months. It has performed satisfactorily,sofar .Having unlimited hot water on demand is wonderful ,especially when the grand children are visiting. The only downside at this point is the waste of water while its heating up. In communities with a limited water supply ,that would be a deal breaker.

Loud. Ours is installed in basement. Would not want this unit installed on a first or second floor if avoidable. Not sure why it is so loud but on the second floor I can hear it from our basement.

I like the capacity of the system as it is able to handle water heating for all my needs ( two showers, dishwasher, laundry and faucets running at the same time. I dislike the humming sound everyone the faucet or shower are running. Can be quite loud especially if the system is near a sleeping area. It also takes a bit of time to get hot water to the furthest part of the house from the system and so have to let the water run for a half a minute to one minute.

"Customers need to know, that while water heater works fine, the time to get hot water is considerably longer than from a conventional tank heater. It takes at least one minute running water to get it hot. A lot of water waste."

Unit does not take too much space, works quietly. I was misguided by other people reviews that hot water supply is immediate. It is not. We may save a bit on gas cost, but paying more for water.

"Works as advertised. Gas model should be paired with a Hugo battery backup system to be invulnerable to power outages. First run of the day at farthest faucet takes a full 60 seconds (undesirable in water starved communities) to reach temperature without a recirculate pump but less susceptible to mechanical issues down the road. Delay is not so noticeable once water is being actively used elsewhere. I would not change my selection but was shocked at the delay the first time I experienced it. Veteran water savers know how to compensate by collecting the cold water for a free toilet flush later on! Hugo is a must. I experienced 2 power outages in the first month of usage without a problem. Losing electricity becomes a big problem the more systems it affects. . . Don’t let it affect your water flow (even in a gas powered tankless water heater). I also can’t say enough good things about Dave in technical support who spoke with me for an hour answering my many questions and then emailed me the tankless water heater manual and tech bulletin on the Hugo battery backup system"
