Rinnai was The choice of a high end builder here in California. That’s impressive!

"I had a 4 year old home ( built new); It had Three Rinnai water heaters. One failed. Estimate to take apart and fix 3,000-4,000 but if I bought a new one for $5,000+ I would have new warranty and new model is easier to service. I was still under warranty for parts, the estimate for repair was mostly labor--it was a BAD design if it takes that much labor to fix under warranty. I bought Rinnai again due to other two Rinnai units-but not happy to do so."

Having a water heater outdoors, taking up no storage space in the house is a plus. Using energy only when you are actually wanting hot water is a plus. But, having to run a faucet for ages and ages to finally get delivery of hot water is a negative. You may be saving on energy but wasting lots of water.

Continuous hot water. Had it for 5 months works fine. Had to make a slight adjustment in the beginning as the water turned hot, then cooler, then hot. Small adjustment corrected the problem.J R

The on-demand system certainly saves space. The time from turning on the faucet to having hot water has not changed noticeably and the temperature of the water is good. We haven't used it during a winter yet, so we are still waiting to see how it performs then.

Having unlimited hot water is great, bus sustaining a minimum flow rate is not only a challenge but a waste of water.

The gas tankless water heater installed in our newly built single family home by Toll Brothers Builders seems to be performing satisfactorily. At first when we heard that it would be installed on the outside of House we were concerned about the effects of Florida weather on the water heater. It appears to be working fine.
