Like the RUR model DID come with a WiFI module. I had ordered one because it said it was optional. Works well with optional Hot Button.

Ive had my tankless heater about 6 months and i couldn't be happier. Endless hot water, tank cycles hot water through pipes so its on demand saving money and resources. And it runs on standered outlet so when my power goes out my small generator is enough to power it up. Cant think of anything i dislike about it yet

"Like the heater overall but have issues with it going luke warm for a one to two minutes at a time and then comes back with continuous hot water for a long time."
gizz Mar 17, 2021
Like that it can provide a constant flow of hot water. Sometimes ours goes luke warm for up to two minutes and then comes back with a constant flow of hot water for a long time. Has been in use for about eighteen months. Here in the Ellensburg, WA area can not find a service person that is versed in this new type of Rinnai hot water heater. Think that it just needs something adjusted in the recirc system.

"Not what I expected"

Just over 2 months in to the use of our water heater. So far, no issues. One time it had an error for the gas valve and stopped making hot water. Turning it on and off fixed that with no problems. My biggest issues were the undisclosed items. In all my research I didn't come across mentioning of the requirement for electricity. I've been on a propane water heater for years and the big selling point was still having hot water when the power goes out in winter storms. I understand stand why it needs electricity, but it needs to be a priority. Also, for the price of these heaters, and the required amount of electricity used, it should come with a small back-up system built in that way I don't lose hot water with every power flicker. It would have been nice to no that a vent kit was not included also. And the price for vent kits(that aren't stocked within 50 miles of me, is stupid. I bought a universal kit that was also overpriced for the $5 worth of plastic it contained.
My other complaint, the Control-R. Mine was supposed to have it, wasn't in the box. Had to wait for a replacement, but the service rep was great! Kudos to her. The app is basically useless and I still haven't been able to get it connected to any of my home automation stuff. Good thing I haven't done the recirc kit yet.
In hindsight, I would go electric. More environmentally friendly, don't have to worry about a gas bill, same functionality and limitations, cheaper.

The unit itself works great. Waited for 45 minutes for tech support and finally hung up in frustration.

Bought this because it's not supposed to break down. Watch out when it does break you can't get parts.

Nice to have app access to make adjustments and check for problems. The plumber that installed can also access my unit remotely and make changes if necessary, which is an added bonus. Recirculartory function is very nice so that you are not waiting forever on water to come from water heater. We have had it one month and had one recent issue where a vapor lock caused recirculatory function to not work. This was caused by having to turn water to house off and introducing air into the line. Once plumber determined problem it was easy fix of bleeding line through stopcock.

"Excellent propane hot water heaters"
New Santa Rosa CA Oct 1, 2020
Endless supply of hot water when needed for our 3 bedroom, 3-1/2 bath home. We have two, one for upstairs, one for downstairs. Only issue we have is when you want cold water in the kitchen, you need to run the cold faucet for at least 30 seconds

"Not happy with this water heater"
usamac Aug 13, 2020
I spent top dollar with the intention to have convenience to my life. While you can set schedules or put a switch somewhere to activate the hot water.. The convenience is crap. The absolute least quality thing I have ever seen created is the CRAPPY App. We love the endless hot water supply, but the app and the circular are an absolute waste of money. I will not be purchasing them again and I may not purchase from Rinnai again.
"our rinnai is extremely hard on propane. "
Anonymous Aug 1, 2020
Our Rinnai system uses too much propane to provide hot water for two people. Our gas cost is about $130 per month on a product that claims to operate for about $800 per year.
"I thought it would save money in the long run...I was wrong."
canucklynn Jul 30, 2020
Bad: 1. sounds like water is leaking someone when it circulates. 2. Cost. Gas price more than double what I paid for with hot water heater. My electric bill has not changed significantly. 3. Instead of running hot water for a while to get it to warm up, I now have to run cold water for a while to get it to cool down. 4. Random expansion "thuds" from the system, like old radiators.5. The app is awful.
Good: hot water nearly on demand.
