We have used the Rinnai for over a year now & it works great. After installation, we could not connect the wireless component. Had to use 2.5 not 5.0 internet connection. The first wireless component was defective & had to be replaced. Customer service was very helpful & we finally got everything working. The wireless system is very weak with an otherwise superior tankless water system. Would highly recommend this product.

Really pleased with the overall operation of this Rinnai On-Demand water heater with WiFi-enabled controller, and recirculating line. Eliminates the long wait for hot water to reach our bathroom. We were able to save space in our laundry room by having the Rinnai On-Demand water heater installed on an outside wall. With 3 adults, we never have to worry about running out of hot water, plus we don't have the added expense of heating water in a traditional water tank throughout the day, when our demand is low.

Have had the water heater 18 months in our new house. The heater works great. Really like recirculation and how quick hot water gets to all parts of the house. The networked controls were terrible to get set up -- it took over a week with numerous conversations with customer service. From first installation, the app continued to try to download firmware and hung, over and over. The phone app that is supposed to do the setup and monitor the water heater is approximately useless. I never go to it to determine what the water heater status is or history because the app does not convey any useful information One day this thing suddenly resent itself from 135F to 120F. The phone app is not intuitive or instructive. Could not figure out how to control the water heater temperature right off, to set it back to 135F. Did figure it out and the unit has worked fine for the past few months.

I love the endless hot water flow. The recirculation setup is ok ,but wish I had gotten the recirculation line separately instead of the cold water line recirc. The software works great but don't like it when it makes me sign in because I forgot my password. Over all a good value. Used it for about 6 months.

Poor performance is all that stands out!
We have had the unit for about 6 months. We like the recycle feature that ensures hot water quickly regardless of distance from the unit. However getting cold water sometimes take a wait but it is worth it because warm or hot water is needed most frequently. Setting up the app on the phone took a little work to the recycle feature working on the schedule we wanted.

Our Rinnai tankless water heater is great. We have a very large house and we used to have to wait forever for hot water even with two large hot water heaters. Now with the recycling feature, we have almost immediate hot water that doesn't run out. Also, we were able to turn our hot water tank closet into a nice linen closet since the Rinnai system is mounted outside our house.

Had top model installed a few months back to replace an aging traditional hot water heater located in a utility closet on the second floor of my home. The Rinnai was installed as an attachment to the low exterior of the house... and away from a kitchen window.... per code apparently, to prevent off gassing entering the house. Very important to follow this code because the Rinnai unit emits a strong smell of what seems to be incompletely burned gas (which in a traditional water heater is piped up and emitted through the house roof). Fortunately, we rely pretty much entirely upon our central HVAC systems and rarely if ever open the windows, but the exhaust nonetheless wafts over to our roofed front and back porches (depending upon the wind), where we have seating and spend a great deal of time. Use careful planning and take into account general wind patterns and your lifestyle in choosing and locating a Rinnai. Otherwise, the unit works well in heating water. We installed a circulation system with the unit to make hot water more immediately throughout the house, especially the second floor baths, but it has not worked as well as we thought. The sink at the cross-over point seems always to have warm water readily available but the other second-floor baths don't and require a few minutes of running and wasting water to get hot--especially disappointing for the the master-bedroom bath, which used to have the traditional hot water heater located immediately on the other side of wall and received hot water very quickly. The circulation system is programmable to allow for more frequent circulation and supposedly (we were told by the plumber) it "learns" our patterns to accommodate use, but I haven't had any luck in delivering hot water any more quickly than before the installation. Now, it's just that the kitchen sink gets hot water quickly and the master bath doesn't when it used to be the opposite. Oh well. I'm told we're saving a lot of electricity and getting greater life span with the Rinnai. I hope so.

The tankless water heater works great and provides warm water whenever we want it. The most useful aspect of the heater is the ability to use the Rinnai application to control when and where we want hot water. This saves money and is very flexible to our needs. Overall, I'd give the product two thumbs up!
