The flush out system does not flush out anything to make it work. It screws up more than a Circ De Solei performer on silks.

"Poor Control R integration ruins the whole experience with the hot water heater (iPhone integration is supposed to allow for more control and flexibility). Multiple reboots, software upgrades, and support calls have resolved most of the problems but overall the experience has been very poor. Rinnai technical staff is very good but its clear the corporation has not provided them with the resources and tools needed to be successful. "

98e system works as advertised. Love the included programmable water recycling system. We have a large house and with the recycle system were able to install a single water heater and have instant hot water at all faucets. It great not having to wait on hot water reaching a distant faucet. Like that we can select when recycling occurs and can override the system if we want hot water when its not programmed to recycle water.

Once you get used to how they work I would never have any other heater. I upgraded to the unit that preheats water in the pipes. It doesn't always maintain the pipes at the temperature that I have set but that is a small complaint.

This is my second Rinnai. Our first home did not have a recirculating loop, so we had lots of hot water and good pressure, but had to wait for the water to reach the farthest parts of the home. Our second home underwent a major renovation and we installed a Rinnai with an insulated hot water loop, recirculating pump and controller. The controller allows us to program start/stop times for the recirculating pump. System works great!

I have had the unit for 7 months. I do wish the installer had given me instruction on setting up the recirculation controller. I really like that the unit is outside and not in the garage.
