Size of unit is appealing, Water baseboard heat is less than "old" furnace / boiler type, energy has been saved. Had the unit about 10 months and have gone through one heating season..

Have had this Rinnai combi boiler for 6 months. So far, so good. Wall unit replaced the oil boiler,oil tank and hot water tank. Opened up a lot of space in the furnace room. Has been reliable and efficient during this just completed winter season.

I recently replaced my home heating system and purchased the Rinnai Model # I120CN tankless water heater and CAH050CE hydrononic air handler furnace. The tankless water heater and furnace performance is great but I am exceptionally disappointed by how Rinnai's engineering and designing department failed with the creation of the air filter housing. The furnace came with item #12 (part 609000073) and item #13 (part 609000074); both of these parts were designed only to hold the air filter. As a matter of fact, both of these parts were completely useless, because the air filter housing DOES NOT COME WITH THE AIR FILTER COVER, AND IT IS NOT EVEN LISTED AS AN OPTIONAL PART. Because of that, the technician who installed the Rinnai furnace had to design and fabricate with his own materials and time a cover in order to store the air filter properly; not only that but also, duct taping had to be utilized in order to hold the fabricated lid in place to cover the air filter casing that was also fabricated by him.
After spending $13.000 CDN on a heating system for my house, I did not expect that something so simple such as the air filter casing with a proper lid and a bolt or screw to secure it could be overlooked by Rinnai. I have checked and consulted with my friends/neighbours and witnessed that all their furnaces regardless of the brand and make, they all have a proper casing with a lid to store the air filter and also comes with a nut or a screw to close and secure the lid against the casing.

Switched from old oil furnace to Rinnai propane furnace. New furnace is mounted at wall and really saves space with the room vs our old system

combi boiler unit for domestic hot water and central heating of home. Recently installed only about 2 mos and it was not designed or load calculated by an engineer just sized by the installer so it has taken a bit of time trying to get the settings comfortable enough for the home. I made a mistake by not having the system designed because I am more concerned with energy efficiency verses comfort. I originally just wanted a tankless water heater until the installer made this suggestion. It was a 3 month process for the install on top of that so I cannot say I am thrilled with the unit just that it is working.

We replaced an ancient oil boiler with a new Rinnai propane boiler. 5 months ago. The efficiency is up from under 70% to higher than 95%. It is working perfectly, and we are delighted with the fact that it is an “on demand” system. It is a fraction of the size of our old system and can still handle 4 zones. Very pleased to have peace of mind.

This is the second Rinnai heater I have owned. They are wonderful. Endless hot water so everyone can take a decent shower in the morning. So much better than a traditional water heater.
