First, the good: this is really a 4 1/2 star item. This is a beautiful electric fireplace. One of the most realistic flames I have ever seen, including in much more expensive units. The heater is practically silent while putting out very nice heat. Don't expect it to be the sole source of heat for a room, just a supplement. The screen, instead of the usual glass, is very realistic and cozy. There is absolutely none of the reflection you get with glass fronts which makes the "fire' even more enjoyable. The screen fits very tightly; no wrinkles or waves. Turn on and off at the press of the remote or the control on the fireplace. Flame can be brightened and dimmed at the touch of a button. The not so good: Flames can be changed from orange to blue or a mix of both. Even set to the highest orange and lowest blue, there is too much blue for a realistic flame, even a gas flame. I just turned the blue off and enjoyed the real flame look. Others may enjoy the blue flame look for a change. Wish the orange were slightly less intense, but this was not really a problem. I bought this unit to fit into an already constructed space. Unfortunately it was just a tad off the size I needed so I very sadly returned it under Home Depot's great 30 day return policy. The return process was a breeze. We just brought the item -to a Home Depot store. No hassles and no questions except to ask us if something was wrong with it. Since this model fireplace is the same price everywhere on-line, the easy and free carry in return policy made it a no brainer to purchase at Home Depot. Please make this screen fireplace in other sizes, Napoleon!
