We’re glad to have bought in this beautiful neighbourhood, but the joy of purchasing this new home from Bedrock Homes was dampened heavily by how the negotiations were conducted. I feel like Bedrock Homes negotiated in bad faith because they dropped the prices of all of Cherot’s home the same week we closed on our house. We also did not get any of the advertised promotions. Scott Penrice (sales manager) stated there was no wiggle room in providing us with ANY of promotions that were advertised to us. They include: Free deck or AC 10 000$ gift card Samsung appliance package The prices in Cherot were first increased, then lowered twice in a short amount of time. These promotions were advertised to us before Bedrock Homes increased their prices. We were told that since Bedrock decreased their prices that the promotions were no longer appropriate due to the cost adjustment of the house. Although Scott attempted to include the appliance package as part of the sale of our home, he was told by head office no new builds could have the Samsung package included and the cost would need to be covered by the buyer Upon covering the cost of the appliances and when the appliances were installed, we were informed the microwave was no longer included because the kitchen had an upgraded hood fan that was somehow missed by the head office.  We were told to cover the cost of the microwave ourselves because the cost was so low. The same argument could be made for why Bedrock did not cover the cost of the microwave.  And then after we bought our house, all of the Bedrock homes fell significantly in cost a second time. Scott also mentioned that our house had an 8000$ upgraded elevation package in relation to a similar model that dropped in price. We went and saw the houses on our spare time and could find no difference between them. We were then told that someone else told him faulty information and that the reason our home was more expensive was because we had a 5000$ upgraded interior (which he said included the upgraded hood fan (which has an MRSP of 569$) and stated our house has a 2 foot wider lot compared to the other lower priced Callie.  I corrected him by saying that the other lower cost model was actually the one with the upgraded full bath on the main floor as well as upgraded MDF shelving in the pantry. He then said that the layout of the cheaper priced Callie was bad for selling therefore it was reflected in the price. I felt as though the story kept changing the more I challenged his explanations. We were then told that there was a city wide cessation of promotions for new builds that coincidentally coincided with our purchase time. When we requested that this information be sent to us in writing, he said he was not able to.  The incompatible business processes between Bedrock and reputable banks needs a closer look. If a buyer requires a bridge loan between selling their current home and future home, a possession date must be provided.  Not being able to confirm a possession date due to the mismatch in Bedrock and ATB’s processes created unnecessary stress for us as the buyers. The service and care for the buyer that we experienced with the build-side of Bedrock’s business was not experienced with the sales-side.

Quality of workmanship and Finnishes needs to improve and light fixtures were cheep . But most of all was the drainage plumbing not up to code and the hot water tank was electric not gas . I had to replace the tank to a new gas one because of the poor efficiency of electric hot water tank is so poor . There was natural gas already hooked up in the basement. So no need to put in electric tank other than to be cheep and save money because Bedrock knows not many people would notice until it was to late .

I've been coming across a lot of issues that should not exist in the first place, and my experience with MCW's warranty coordinator has been horrendous - disrespect and unprofessionalism.
