I would have liked weekly updates on the progress of the home. I would also have liked a list of the names of people who contacted me (Brookfield/loan/title) and what their responsibilities were. It was difficult to know who to contact with which questions which delayed answers.

Bill & Christie in sales were wonderful. They helped a lot during the process and listened to the majority of our concerns. Despite my complaints about the construction experience and quality, we still love the home and the neighborhood. This is exactly where we wanted to be, and exactly the home and lot we wanted. I think with a little more care and attention from construction, you guys would have nailed it.
There was almost ZERO communication during construction We were fortunate to live nearby so we could visit the site weekly. If we weren't local, this probably would have been a terrible experience. You need to provide weekly updates, specifics on what you're doing, specifics on the timeline. There needs to be some sort of visible leadership on the construction team, instilling confidence that your home is being well supervised, well built, and that your concerns are being heard and promptly addressed. What would I change? Replace the construction team with more qualified supervisors who interact with the buyers, closely monitor contractors and hold them accountable, and ensure the finished product WARRANTS a score of 6 - Delighted. I think your construction team also needs to listen better and be less dismissive. They seemed to be looking for any excuse NOT to address an issue. "It's 'within tolerance.'" "That's not an issue." "We can't do anything about that." Most of experiences with construction have just been frustrating. Also, it would have been great to see a list of all structural options when we were in that phase. It happened really fast because of when we signed our purchase agreement and when they had to be finalized, but I feel like we missed out on a few things because we just didn't realize they were options and didn't have an actual list to look at.
