I like the design of the home. I like that Brookfield was able to finish the house quickly and ahead of the schedule.
In general I really like the home and the neighborhood. This was the first time we bought a semi-custom home and we had no guidance on how anything worked. I would have expected that someone would have taken the time to sit with us and go through the option list and explain it instead of giving us the list and making us ask questions about what and how - seems like a lazy way to sell something. No information was offered unless asked, felt very alone. We tried having our agent contact him and he ignored her completely. Always had the impression the Sales Rep was ready to move on to his "new" community, ours was one of the last houses in this community. The sales representative was little to no help. Did not help us in understanding the options available or how the process works. Response time was the worst I have experienced, especially given the magnitude of the purchase and the decisions that needed to be made. The sales representative would not respond to my Realtor and rarely my girlfriend (Co-Buyer), can't understand why. The Sales Representative is the major reason I will not recommend Brookfield to anyone and why the whole transaction was soured for me. Please note the Construction team was friendly and responsive.
The home's floorplan offers spacious living for our large family. There were several bumps along the way and we appreciate Brookfield working through things with us. From the day of our walkthrough until now, Rick has been extraordinary!
I would change the layout of the upper level of my floor plan. I would ensure options and standard features are clearly indicated in the model. If options are no longer available, it should be noted/indicated in the model. If there are layout changes, they should be noted in the model and buyers should be made aware up front. I would change the initial selection process. Instead of buyers having to read through a number of options they receive at time of contract, they should be given a 3-5 day period to review option selections and adjust OR just have the sales associate provide a list of most popular options or something along those lines.
