The process requires choices and decisions that are virtually irrevocable and unsupervisable in a project that is a costly and major commitment, all jammed into a few meetings that are expected to be permanent for novice home buyers. No one who came to the site evaluation and planning day actually worked on our house. We were shuffled from one builder or grader to the next, and it was hit or miss as to what had previously been planned would be done. Overall, it was an unnerving, unsatisfying experience where everything seemed out of our control and the building process went forward with each team doing what they thought, and not what we had wanted
I would compare my first home purchase with Brown Haven Homes to buying a used car—nothing about the experience felt smooth or reassuring. I am thoroughly unsatisfied with how both Brown Haven and Impeccable handled nearly every step of the construction and financing process. A major portion of the closing delay stemmed from a significant oversight by the lender. Key information that should have been caught at the very beginning of the loan process was completely missed. Because of that mistake, we were forced to switch loan programs after construction had already begun. This wasn’t a minor adjustment—it changed the terms of our financing in a way that directly increased our long-term costs and monthly payment. It was extremely upsetting, especially because this issue was entirely preventable had the lender performed a thorough review from the start. To add to that frustration, I received an email the very next business day after closing informing me that my loan had already been sold. This was disappointing after months of being told that Impeccable was committed to building a relationship with us and would always be available to help. My actual closing date ended up being more than two months later than originally quoted due to issues on both the financing and construction side. I hired an independent home inspector, and Brown Haven’s response to several legitimate findings was simply, “That’s just the inspector’s opinion,” which did not inspire confidence. The quality of the home was below expectations, and it required significant effort on my part to get necessary corrections addressed. Based on my experience, I would not recommend this builder. Once you reach the point of no return in the process, it feels as though their focus shifts entirely to the next customer.
Overall we had a very good experience. They held to the total cost of the home. There were no surprises there. Every sub at our site was polite and professional. Our site leader, Chad, was new with Brown Haven. He jumped right in and did a great job. He was always responsive and returned call or had an answer to anything we needed. He was professional and kind as he was tall!!! Also Dustin was with him guiding him through all of the Brown Haven procedures. They made a great team. As in every build things don’t go as planned but everything was addressed and dealt with quickly. Thank you Chad and Dustin!!!!
Everything went reasonably well. Mason did an excellent job of following construction and keeping us informed.

This was our second home built with Brown Haven. The experience was top notch from start to finish. The customer service and build quality is among the best I have ever seen in new construction homes. The Asheville office staff and the construction manager Matt were top notch.
Colton Day, our Construction on-site supervisor was very diligent and responsive about keeping our home construction on schedule. He was wonderful to work with, always respectful, and kept us informed every step of the way. He went above and beyond to make us happy with our home-building experience. Unfortunately, he made a few promises that he could not keep (he was overruled by higher authority, I assume). Overall, I am happy with my new home, although there are a few major things I am not pleased with. For example: flat paint on the ceilings and walls and cheap carpeting with the select package. I would have expected better quality when paying so much. The upgrades were ridiculously costly and in my humble opinion, most of them should have been part of the select package in the first place. Also, all the big trucks coming in out out for over five months ruined our gravel driveway, but Brown Haven was unwilling to repair the damage. Instead of adhering to the electrical flagging, BHH made the decision to cut corners and ended up damaging the roots of an irreplaceable 100+ year old oak tree. We are still waiting for a letter from BHH owners providing a 10-year guarantee that if the tree dies they will pay to have it removed.
The experience start to finish was awesome. Chaiz was a great construction manager and had an answer for every question along the way.
