Great communication and response from even before we pulled out the checkbook for the deposit. They were flexible when we needed updates to a few minor issues, and have been very responsive whenever we have had an issue (all minor). We will be testing that response soon as a few more minor issues have popped up, but we aren't worried.

We like our house. It seems to be well built, has a nice floor plan, great features and looks nice. However, the primary bathroom shower had significant mold after one month - with only occasional use. The floor had to be replaced which was a huge inconvenience and mess. There are still open items from the replacement project, the black shower drain cover is scratched and was to be replaced. We’ve also asked for someone to look at the shower door to make sure it was rehung correctly. Jane took a picture of it but no one has looked at it. We are still waiting. We have followed up multiple times and have received only empty promises. Other warranty repairs have also been slow. It seems that the warranty team just hopes customers will get tired of following up and drop the issue(s).

When a new house is built, one can expect a number of things that need to be repaired. However, other than a calibration on the A/C system, and a minor detail here and there, the house was built almost perfect. I heard from other neighbors (who did not build with Caldwell - even with very expensive builders) many complains. This is true just for everyone I met who did not built with Caldwell.

We have at least two walls that are not square. The caulking job is awful. They did not think through some items in this model home (location of turn on/off in master shower, size of doors for study, add option of 2 pocket doors to make guest rooms and their baths private, guest bedrooms are too small, find someplace on main floor for hvac. This is a 55+ community. We cannot climb up a ladder to the attic. Or make a set of stairs to walk up to attic. Design Center person/sales person did not explain what was included in the upgraded kitchen. (We would have added undercabinet lighting but it was never mentioned and we assumed was included with upgraded kitchen (as in our last Taylor Morrison home). The actual bldr did make some exceptions for us (arranging closet pole rods, changing location of floor outlet, changing color or garage door as it didn’t match any other color of the exterior, stains in front porch concrete look awful. Bottoms of kitchen cabinets are unpainted yet next to them the cabinets with glass fronts are painted. Can be seen when sitting down. David Weekly Homes install cabinet pulls—Caldwell should also. Clients should have input as to where towel bars are placed. They are way too high. Door hardware should not be painted although that might be the norm for this area. Overall, just feel shoddy workmanship.

In the rush to close at the end of the year, the quality of plants and trees were completely unacceptable. No response from builder. Seems they take care of building issues but ignore landscaping.Use of rip-rap in one area was not underlaid with plant inhibiter or cloth, turning in to a real mess.
