Despite feeling as though I got horrible customer service from Granite Homes, I LOVE my condo SO MUCH. I was nervous buying my first home site unseen and I really could not be happier with it. I think the best part was buying directly from the builder. I loved being able to pick out every single (even minor) feature in my condo. Everything I selected as well as my upgrades are exactly what I wanted. I have recommended Granite Homes as well as buying directly from the builder to everyone I know.

Would Change

The customer service is pretty hit and miss, I overall felt like I got HORRIBLE customer service from Granite Homes. When I signed my offer letter, Sandra was great. She explained everything I needed to know. When I picked out my features and upgrades and even when I went to the design studio the first time to estimate prices and see my options, the person I met with there was amazing (Sarah I think). However, my lawyer told me (as well as Sandra) that Granite Homes needed to tell me if my tentative move-in date had changed by July 15, 2020. My lawyer actually said that if they did not let me know by that date I could file a complaint with Tarion. No one ever let me know my move-in date changed. I literally had to harass Granite Homes to provide me with crucial information that I should have been given. When someone at Granite Homes finally let me know that my move-in date had changed I was treated like a nuisance and they told me I "should've already received an email about this" (which I never did). I also know another person in the building who was completely packed up and ready to move and then called Granite Homes to find out when she was getting her keys and they told her at that point that her move-in date had been pushed back a month. Christine is also incapable of answering any question I have, nor does she address any of my concerns.

I’m quite pleased with the layout of the unit and was impressed with the information provided to us by the designer. The layout of the kitchen is well done, and the space in the unit is well utilized.

Would Change

Response time felt a bit lacking for me personally, especially after the unit flooded. The builder was reluctant to take necessary steps to prevent mold from occurring. The grading of the utility rooms is inconsequential when it comes to water collecting and flowing past into the living areas. We also felt slighted by the inclusion of the emergency fire shutters. We still feel that there could have been a more visually appealing alternative (as opposed to both being installed on the interior of our home, rather than the exterior which is much more common).

Would Change

I'll be blunt .. I wasn't upset by all the unavoidable delays due to covid until the notice to close was given and zero leniency on extending the closing date was provided. I was extremely unhappy with that. Scrambled and closed but honestly will not personally buy Granite again and will mention the story to clients.

They were very friendly, informative, and responsive. Even when there were things that needed to be addressed, they were open to talking about it and were very helpful when resolving the issues. COVID caused the process to be a bit different (no pre-drywall inspection), but they sent many pictures of every part of the condo for our review. It was a great experience and I am very happy I went with Granite Homes.
