We're really happy with the overall quality and construction of our Hayden Home - solid build, great craftsmanship, and the buying process went smoothly. That said, we had one post construction issue that kept this from being a 5 star experience. After move-in, we found leftover materials scattered on the property: I still have rebar in the front yard, 50 ft of sprinkler tubing in the back, and piles of rocks were pushed to my side of the property instead of removed after fence work. With a little more attention to site cleanup, this would've been perfect.

When we moved in, we noticed a leak from the garage ceiling only three days later. Hayden Homes sent someone for a 'quick fix,' yet the ceiling began dripping a second time about ten days later while we were still waiting for the area to dry. This was the first time we questioned the quality of the professional service provided. After the root cause was finally identified and repaired, we hired our own independent inspector to assess the damage. Our inspector found that the bathroom subfloor was significantly wetter than expected. Initially, Hayden Homes dismissed this concern, claiming it was 'unlikely' to be a problem and advising against removing the LVP flooring. We insisted on the removal, and it revealed that the subfloor was, in fact, very wet. This is the second time we have had to doubt the professional judgment of Hayden Homes. Given this track record of underestimating the severity of the leaks, we are now deeply concerned about the potential for mold growth and structural decay beneath the bathtub, which remains unexamined.

Review of Overall Experience

We purchased two homes based largely on the guidance and efforts of our realtor, Rebekah. The first person we spoke with by phone was Sarah. Unfortunately, our initial impression was not positive. The tone and attitude felt more take it or leave it than welcoming or supportive. Nothing personal, but not someone I would place at the forefront of a customer facing role. We ultimately decided to purchase the two homes because they are located directly across the street from one another, not because of our interaction with Sarah. During the walkthrough process, we met the team responsible for warranty matters and assistance with registering appliances and other items. We closed in December but have not yet moved in. Within a day or two after closing, we noticed several issues, including a defective window pane and a washer and dryer that were not properly installed and therefore could not be used. Attempts to contact the office have felt futile. We have not received meaningful assistance from Sarah or anyone else. I do not work for Hayden Homes and should not have to investigate who the third party window installer was. I did not contract with a window company. I purchased a completed home from Hayden Homes. Likewise, I should not have to track down the manufacturer of the washer and dryer to resolve an installation issue that existed at closing. These items were part of the home we purchased and ensuring they are properly installed and functional should not fall on the buyer immediately after closing. This feels like poor customer service and raises legitimate concerns about the caliber of the company and its post closing support structure. How is there not a dedicated person or department that follows up with homeowners after closing to coordinate warranty issues and vendor follow up on behalf of the customer. Buyers should not be left to navigate subcontractors and manufacturers on their own days after closing. As of now we are still waiting with no clear communication or timeline and the warranty items remain unresolved. The purpose of this review is simply to encourage resolution and we would appreciate these problems being addressed. Thank you.
