Liked Most

Our sales consultant, Lynn, is a wonderful person and spent a lot of time explaining everything. The builders, Dan and Paul, were wonderful, treated our house like it was their own and made sure we were completely happy. They made sure we had a quality build. Gary was great with our warranty work and took really good care of us. We really love the house and the neighborhood. The houses have character and do not look cookie cutter. The floor plans are very contemporary and just what we were seeking.

Would Change

The options chosen in structural versus design was confusing. It would have been helpful to a reference sheet. Our floor plan offered a two car garage with a two foot extension and a three car garage with no extension. We really wanted a three car garage with a two foot extension. We even offered to help pay to have the drawings modified. It would have been nice if Mattamy would have worked with us on that.

The sales center and design center were great. The mortgage office was also professional despite closing challenges.

Would Change

There's no follow-through with anything. We have a huge hole in our driveway that's been there for weeks because of improper piping. Our closing was moved on the scheduled day of closing without advance notice. Our air conditioner unit was improperly installed and broke several times over a one month period causing our electricity bill to skyrocket. Our exterior doors also didn't have weather stripping, so spiders have been a major problem. Air was also escaping adding to the bill. We had to buy those ourselves since we had waited for weeks for the repairs. Our building manager changed several times without notice, so we never knew what was going on. Closing was delayed every week for more than a month. The building experience was really unpleasant and we still have issues that need to be fixed without any further communication from anyone.
