Generally, the experience was pleasant. Exception was the loan officer who made things a bit more difficult than necessary.
My overall experience with Meritage Homes has been good. Their homes stand out for energy efficiency, modern designs, and functional layouts, offering great value for the price. The buying process was smooth, though there were some minor construction and finish issues that required follow-up during the first year due to normal settling. Nonetheless, my representative, Michelle, was very responsive—even outside of business hours—which made a big difference. Overall, a solid choice if you’re looking for an energy-efficient, modern home.

We had a fantastic orientation and walk thru with Freddie in construction. Freddie was super knowledgeable and provided easy to understand details all about our new home. We want to extend our gratitude again to Mitchell and the rest of the Meritage team who effortlessly guided us thru our new home buying experience - it was a first for my husband and I and we are ecstatic that we chose a Meritage home!

My overall experience purchasing my home was great! all aspects of the purchase i communicated with great individuals who knew what they were talking about and also looking out for me. Kelsie was the one of the most helpful individuals i met during the process. She taught me so much about the home i purchased and extended her hand for me to call at anytime if i have a question.

From the first visit to closing the house the journey has been smooth and delightful. I had no idea that buying the first home would be this easy, Mark and Justin have been really helpful.
We’ve had a rough start to say the least, including a broken window, missing light covers, missing and improperly installed cabinet trim, unfinished painting, missing fireplace remote large, unattached and lose fireplace framing threshold gaps at front door, a sticking garage door, a poorly cut interior door that left even the contractor perplexed, crooked door handles throughout, shockingly loud and wall shaking water heater, a damaged underground fiber conduit preventing me from having internet for weeks after moving in, an inconsistent door locking system, a large abandoned brush pile in my my backyard along with a half dozen or more empty beer bottles and obvious buried scraps including black hoses, I would be very reluctant to recommend Meritage to anyone. That said, my construction managers Brady and Matt went above and beyond making sure the giant list of disappointments were addressed quickly and can’t thank them enough for doing everything in the power to make corrections. I give Matt a delighted 5⭐️. For Meritage, there seems to be a get it done quick and get it sold mentality. QC would go a long way here. At first when I did my walkthrough with Brady, I felt confident and taken care of with all of the blue tape tagging done, but it feels like it was simply a distraction tactic. It’s pretty awkward when construction mangers feel forced to request 5 stars for bonuses when they seem to be waiters being punished for poor quality food. This will all pass in time, but for now, I’m left with a bad taste in my mouth.
