I have had an extremely unacceptable, disappointing and stressful experience since moving into what was supposed to be a turnkey, move-in ready home. Due to a leak from a cracked pipe, I endured over a month of what felt like a never-ending nightmare. For five days, 7–9 industrial fans made it impossible to remain in the house. A removed toilet left a sewer odor for nearly two weeks, rendering the entire downstairs unlivable. Floors, carpet, cabinets, and walls were torn up. A dumpster placed in my front yard cracked my driveway, which still has not been repaired. My front door lock keypad was corroded, preventing Safe Streets from completing their work. I have missed multiple days of work dealing with these issues. Additionally, I was informed by pest control professionals that my home had been missed in their initial treatment, requiring quarterly in-person service to compensate for what the installed pods should have been doing. This is a home valued at half a million dollars, yet it has been problem after problem. My experience thus far has stolen any joy of purchasing a new home. This is a half-million-dollar home, yet I have faced ongoing, costly, and time-consuming problems from the get go. This is not the condition or experience I paid for, and I expect prompt resolution and appropriate compensation for the damages, losses, and inconvenience I have endured.

Brandon & my seller agent Noah was very helpful through out the whole process. Thank you guys!
The Sales, Mortgage, and Insurance teams were great to work with and were very effective in our communications! The construction team however leaves a very poor impression, as there were quite a large list of items that had to be corrected prior to closing (closing was 6/30). Unfortunately, there is still a list of corrections/fix-up/touch up, etc that are still outstanding. It seems that the expectation is that the Meritage construction manager is not responsible to assure the house is completed and finished, but rather that has been left to the buyer to identify and request that the necessary repairs be made. The reputation of Meritage homes is what drove us to pick and select a Meritage home, however it seems that reputation of a quality and finished home at the time of closing is grossly overstated. I shared the many issues that were not correct and the answer I got back was "oh that is not so bad... you should see how that looks in other homes in the community" That is what makes me question the overall quality of the homes foundation and structural quality! It seems that the Meritage reputation for quality construction is overstated! Unfortunately I can not, in good conscience refer my friends and acquaintances toward Meritage homes. I apologize for my "complaints" however I felt you needed to know
