This home buying experience has been a complete nightmare. From the sales office all the way through closing. Nothing but broken promises. We have been in our new home for 6 weeks and we have so many problems that they do not want to fix. They act like they are the victims as to why they build crappy homes.

The framing on our house had to be redone after we noticed problems with it. Every step of the way we had problems.

Even though I am glad and grateful that our was built in less than 6 months, I feel that Meritage and their vendors rushed the closing of our home and for such a small house there was waaayyy too many mistakes and little details wrong in the house and throughout the property. Some we decided to let slide like dings on appliances and my wife even touched up paint that the painters missed. But there were items marked on our 1st walk through such as the kitchen cabinets needed adjustments, that were not corrected when we moved in and it took several weeks to be corrected and it was not even corrected by the cabinet company, but by the construction manager, after we were stood up multiple times by the cabinet company. Also since we closed 7 weeks ago we have had several issues that have been found that need to be resolved and we have been in contact with the gentleman assigned to our walk through by Meritage Mr. Pedro who appears to be making every effort to be in contact with the trades that are supposed to be coming and we have been stood up at least 4 to 5 times. Pedro had been great in keeping contact with us but recently he was moved twice to different communities and unfortunately the contact has not been the same. Now I have to say that some trades have made it to complete some of the issues, not when they were scheduled to but on a later date, but I am grateful they did come. But it is completely unprofessional for a large company like Meritage Homes and or it's vendors to not keep their word on their scheduled repairs. I have been informed by Pedro and his manager that do to covid many trades are behind so my wife and I have been understanding to that situation and we have been extremely patient but there is only so many times that your builder schedules repairs and the trades pull a no call and no show on appointments before you loose patience. This may land on deaf ears but I truly hope that Meritage will back up there motos on their website that they build at a higher standard so that their customers can live with peace of mind. Lastly I want to say that this is my 3rd new construction home and none of the previous 2 homes that I had bought from William had anywhere near as many defects as this home and they always showed up on the scheduled date and times to correct the few items.
