The agent who sold me the house told me things that were not true about the HOA. I specifically asked about things like if fruit trees were allowed and she said yes. I also specifically asked if the HOA allowed privacy fences on the side yards and she said yes. Neither of those things were true. She also told me that the house would be complete around the beginning of August and had me rushing to sell my old house. I then the date shifted to the middle of August, then September first, then September 15th, then finally I was able to close on September 28th. I also have dead trees in my backyard, repairs that were promised and not made (cracks in drywall edging) and now I have paint peeling on doors. I had a faulty front door lock, and it took weeks to get it repaired. I am quite frustrated by the lack of responsiveness of the builder.

Love my new house. Beautiful care in most areas during construction. I am less than impressed how ALL FACETS were addressed prior to closing. For example, we don't have a mailbox and were required to open a PO Box in the local area. Also, we do not have any internet installed for us to hook up to. We are in the home for over 5 weeks without wifi options. Overall, I do love the house and am very excited to see the growth and community center. Hope it is as expected.

Very little guidance on moving in. No one knew when closing was. It felt like the home was not turn key ready when we moved in. We are still waiting on our 30 day post closing list to be finished, it feels like pulling teeth. I have tried reaching out to project managers and was told they would be by one day and I was completely ignored and not followed up with. The only time someone did come out immediately was when my husband threatened not to pay the water bill because the irrigation system seemed as though it was flooding. We were not walked through and taught how to use the irrigation system or any of the other equipment in our new home. I do not feel like a valued customer after I moved in.
During the sales proces I was repeatedly given incorrect and conflicting information. The paint job was very poorly done, the home was not properly cleaned and after taking ownership I have not received any responses to my written (text and email requests). The basic home structure does appear solid.
Sales Representative Amber was very helpful in our decisions and guidance. Matt was very good in managing the construction of our home.
Closing should have been pushed back atleast a week for all of the punch list items to be taken care of. Home looked awful during first walkthrough and a bit better at closing. It has been absolutely stressful trying to get Meritage back in to address the many cosmetic issues with the home. We closed over a month ago and we have tried over and over to get any progress on the punch list done but progress to get anything done is slow and communication is non existent unless we reach out, and even then we still have seen barely any progress. Closings need to be pushed out if the homes are not ready. It has been very stressful for me and my fiancée and we only hope all of the items get addressed.
