Our overall experience with Meritage has been very poor. From the time we signed the contract forward things have been bad. In hindsight, we should have never closed on the house.

Our overall experience was negatively influenced from the beginning due to poor communication and transparency from sales agent. We were made promises of a closing date in February, when we ended up closing in May. We have nothing but good things to say about financing. Stephen was extremely informative and helpful when explaining our options for financing. He was always prompt with responses to questions we had. We were very displeased with construction, as we found a leak within our kitchen island right after closing. This leak had been something ongoing since the water had been turned on prior to our closing. Upon further assessment, the island was full of mold on the inside, requiring a complete remediation and replacement of the kitchen island. This made us unable to move into a home that we were paying a mortgage on for almost two months due to remediation and scheduling various trades to reassemble the kitchen. Throughout this process, Eddie has been nothing but helpful and thorough. The issues with construction are at no fault of his, and he has been working diligently to correct any issues we have found. We want to stress that Eddie has gone above and beyond to help us be able to move into our new home, and Meritage is lucky to have an employee who works hard to do the right thing for new home owners.
My overall experience with the Meritage has been great. This is my first home purchase. It's been very hard, overwhelming, and stressful. All Meritage staff has great but I would like to recognize my building manager Rob. He has made my first home ownership experience so much smoother and less stressful. He is so helpful, polite, professional, pleasant, patient and more. And always greets with a smile. Thank you Rob and thank you Meritage for your great service.
