There is way too much water retention between the homes. There is also so much more money to put into a home as there isn’t even a patio to enclose, tp holders, towel holders, shelves over the washer dryer and the closet shelving is very cheap.

We are so very happy with our purchase of our Meritage home, From the very start everyone has been so professional and very helpful. Our home is so beautiful and very well build.
Our overall experience with Meritage was very good. However, we have a few recommendations for improvement. 1. Landscaping could’ve been more complex (with a palm tree, flowers, and denser vegetation). 2. A smoother interior wall texture and a higher quality paint would be more appreciated. When we wiped off mild stains on the walls, we essentially removed a significant portion of the paint. At the same time, we realized that this is a standard approach among many other builders in Florida. 3. A bigger neighborhood pool would be more preferred considering the size of the neighborhood. 4. The surface of the front porch and lanai floor is pretty rough. 5. It would’ve been much better if the neighborhood center was already built by this time. 6. We would like to see a lot more trees and various vegetation in the neighborhood. 7. A fountain in some ponds would be pleasant to see as well. 8. We would prefer to see a more modern and wider style of the baseboard and door casing. 9. A more modern style rails both upstairs and downstairs would look more beautiful. However, we understand that this is typical for a house at this price level. 10. It would be more esthetic if the downstairs return fan was located not in the living room. But we understand if it was required by the code or from the construction perspective. 11. It would be more convenient if the master bathroom separate switches for the lights above the sinks and in the shower area. It would also be very convenient if the living room switch was located not only by the kitchen but also in the entrance to the master bedroom. On the other hand, we are very satisfied in multiple aspects of our house and our experience with Meritage. 1. The effectiveness with which Meritage has been addressing our concerns in various areas of our house. It is very important to us. Hopefully, it will continue. 2. We like the fact that our home is more energy-efficient than average. 3. Gourmet kitchen, including the backsplash and countertops (Classic White package). 4. Taller doors, including the modern door style. 5. Higher ceiling. 6. Some security system, including the video door bell. 7. Expanded tile area. 8. 3-car garage. 9. The presence of both the loft and office/flex room. 10. Separate dinning area. 11. 3-panel taller sliding glass door. 12. Beautiful exterior appearance of our house (Paloma model). 13. Can lights instead of lower quality builders grade lights. 14. The back yard view is gorgeous.
I would recommend Meritage Homes. We purchased this home, sight unseen and was given glowing reports of the craftsmanship and progress. I am a little pickier than most as I work in the construction field. The fit and finish was not up to what I was expecting but we are working to get it corrected. For instance, I thought it came with soft close drawers and it didn't, carpet and padding are light on padding/elegance, No bathroom hardware, and bug/ants everywhere. For your signature home series, it has come up a little short, in my opinion. It has some corrections being done that seem to be due to a rushed job and the trades don't seem to care if they mess something up.
