We had so much great experience with Meritage that we have friends hoping to get their dream home from them too.
Overall the experience has been very positive. The only hiccup so far was our attic cover was not installed upon closing which was a month before we moved in. After moving in we noticed it still wasn’t done and it took multiple phone calls to get this handled. Not the end of the world and we realize Amy, John and Ben are juggling a lot of balls with all the new construction. Amy, John, and Ben have been a pleasure to work with. Additionally, Lee Ann was extremely helpful in getting our warranty stuff registered.
Daryl and Andrea made the process of transitioning to my home easy and smooth. Daryl is always willingly providing his assistance and answering any of my questions with a smile. Andrea as well is fast to respond to my texts with questions and taking initiative. Overall, they have made the homeowner experience much easier to navigate.

Our experience has been bad, I have worked in construction and know a few things. Our loan provider loan Depot got hacked and we couldn't close as we wanted with a lower interest rate. There where several things that had to get fix while the house was being built. The house three days before our final walk didn't have electricity and it took almost 2weeks before we could get the walk through done. There where things after we moved in that needed to be fixed like the dishwasher not being hooked up to water, the stairs not being stapled down, the garage not usable for several weeks because the concrete wasn't cure because they tried to was and stain it and clean it up so they paid for it to be exposed. Now our loan has been revised two months after we have finished and closed. The only thing my wife said made it somewhat pleasant was Andrea, Chad, and Chris, if they were not there she would have walked out. They are the only ones that we feel really wanted to help, the workman ship on the house seems poor and my wife is worried about the electric bill this summer. We can go down this rabbit hole all we want but in Arizona it seems that nothing gets done on time or properly.
I wish a water softener loop was installed during the build. This would have saved money on the water softener install. The team was extremely responsive when we had an issue with our dryer. The cord almost caused a fire. The electrician came out and checked our wiring promptly. When the appliance technician said it wasn’t covered by warranty due to it being a faulty cord, our Construction Manager personally picked up a cord and made the repair. So far, I’ve felt seen and heard by all Meritage personnel. I understand there will be issues even with a new build. My few issues have been dealt with promptly. Overall a great experience.
