My overall experience with Mungo Homes was the most calming and seamless process from other home purchases. I would highly recommend them to anyone looking to purchase a quality home with confidence that they will be satisfied.

Review of Overall Experience

Our experience from start to finish was more than we could have hoped for. If I could sum up one of the most important factors in our experience, it would be information transparency that translated through the whole process. Brian was straightforward with us about pricing changes for the initial signing of our contract and deadlines for the number of houses that would be available to contract that month and held us a spot to come sign. He was always available by text, call, or stop in to answer questions, update us on the process, let us walk the model again (since our floorplan was also a Telfair). He was quick to answer or send requested information even if he was not working that day. He was clear with us about where we wanted to spend money and where we didn't and help guide us through those options. For example, we didn't want a high cost lot premium, so we walked the properties that would be available to us and talked out the advantages and disadvantages of the lot we picked. He kept us abreast of the issues that were happening with the PTO delay and how that looked moving forward and the delay for the build to start. When we passed over into the build phase, I cannot express how we felt like we hit the Jackpot with Mitch. His expertise was top notch. He was always available for questions. His weekly updates kept us right on top of when we wanted to come look at the progression of the house from a wanting to be involved and see the evolution of our house to also being able to see the structure from the ground up and lay eyes on all the inner workings. He had a color coded spray paint that he explained to us so we could easily look around and follow the plans. Whenever we would go look around the house and see anything that we were unsure of or concerned about or confused about, we would just call or text him a picture and he would resolve the issue, explain what was going on, and send us updates back if it was something that was fixed. We were interested in the insulation of the house, so he left us a foam gun to foam any areas that we saw that might need a little something. In truth, it wasn't a necessity, but he recognized that it was important to us and knew that the opportunity to get in the house and put some insulation foam in spots made a difference to us. He was very intuitive about what we expressed as important to us. He never made us feel like we were being difficult or superfluous in our questions or requests. He recognized that the grading of our backyard was highly topographic no matter how much fill dirt they could bring in, and he built us a two step deck out our back sliding glass door. Yes, we were supposed to have a 3X3 cement stoop, but there was practically a foot drop out that back door and he went above and beyond to take away any concerns we might have of literally falling down walking out our back door. He took the time to have extensive discussions with us about multiple subjects. One was a casual conversation just about insulation in attics, another one was more serious when we were discussing exactly how the PTO delays could manifest, what exactly the steps that were needed to keep moving forward, so we were never surprised. It got to where most of our conversations felt like a comfortable chat with a friend. I know that not every builder is going to convey that kind of feeling with their homeowners and we appreciated all of his efforts. When we were doing our pre closing walk through, he had been through the house so many times, he had more blue tape than we did of things that we would not even have noticed, so we were extremely comfortable and confident that we would have no problems with our finished home. He was even able to move our downstairs guest bathroom light fixture down to a more natural height. They were originally placed likely from a template used upstairs where the ceilings were 8 feet and that same template placement where the ceilings were 9 feet looked way too high. At the point that the gas was hooked up, it did not go unnoticed that he would have the fireplace going for us when we would come visit the house. It made us feel right at home. It was a pleasure having him as our builder. I am sure that I could go on and am likely to think of more after I hit send. We were also very happy with our preferred lender. We signed our contract at a time that was so busy, we were able to preapprove with the two available lenders. Once we were able to start working on the final lending process, we were able to work with both David at Ameris and Trisha at Silverton. Both were very helpful, but we were swayed by Trisha's significant knowledge and insight into the ups and downs of the market at a time where so many things were unsure. We are so happy with our new home and the whole process of getting to it! Thank you!
