Great and Perfectly Fit for my Budget and Location we were asked for.
Very good experience
All employees are so warm and always answer the phone right away for any concerns.
The overall experience was good, I am happy with the transparency of the process.
The overall service level is quite good, and the feedback on problems is also resolved in a timely manner. The experience of staying in the house is very pleasant.
We were dealing with Hazel Before and everything was doing great. She was very helpful. But after she left we - I have to find out myself who will be our new rep.
Very good
Our representative Jerry was a very involved and lovely person who seemed to really care about trying to have us enjoy a good experience overall while also doing his best to meet our needs as an extended family unit. Unfortunately Jerry is no longer working as a sales representative and the after care from Sterling has been quite lacking. I'll start by saying a few positive things: I believe the foundation of our home has been constructed well and most of the contractors we met along the way in the build process seem to be knowledgeable and adept at their trades. Our site construction manager, James has been very nice to work with and is very knowledgeable . Our home is lovely and everyone who walks in sees all the beautiful elements on the surface. Unfortunately in our brand new home we've ended up with a countertop that has 3 manufacture defects in it - this was an admission from the actual countertop company. No one took responsibility as to why they would have installed it in the first place- initially on our walk through on possession day we pointed out the defects and we were told to clean the spots with a magic marker- which didn't work- then they sent someone from Sterling after care- who tried to remove the spots which proved to be impossible to remove- so it then escalated to the countertop company who said it was a manufacturers defect and sent the issue back to Sterling who then closed the "ticket" - and so we ended up with a huge slab of white countertop with obvious dark spots in it that cannot be removed. Another issue has been our chain link fence which marks the back of our yard and over looks the pond. When the workers were doing the grade around our home, one of them ripped a large hole in the fence. As we started yet another "ticket", we opened it- they saw it- and they then closed it with zero follow up as to whether they're going to fix it or not. Another issue has been that the houses on either side of us have been in process- we took possession in February and they're just getting to the siding stage on each house- we have expected the noise and that's okay- people have to get their jobs done. But because our garage pad didn't get poured until just last week- parking has been questionable on the best of days. There is also huge amounts of soil/muck leaking onto the front street from the construction on either side of us and this has created mud like quicksand in front of our home to the point that it's become dangerous just trying to get from our front door to our cars- wherever they might be parked. Another issue has been our metal grate sidewalk- both of our children have fallen and ended up with huge cuts on their knees/legs because the grates have become unstable due to the rains/low grade. Unfortunately with the fall my grand-daughter needed a tetanus shot because it ended up being a pretty good gash. Another issue has been the mess out front- skids of supplies have been delivered to the North of us and instead of making sure they were not on our property they just dropped them next to our sidewalk. So for the last 6 weeks we've actually had skids of siding to navigate trying to make our way to our front door on a sometimes very slippery and unlevel metal grate sidewalk. Another issue has been the cement company- our family is in the process of building out a suite in the basement and so we've had deliveries expected- one such paid delivery for bathtubs and fixtures was scheduled for last Friday- early morning our truck arrived with the driver ready to pull things off the truck- as he was asking us to come and help, the cement company showed up and expected us to immediately move out of the way as our big delivery truck was temporarily taking up space next door as someone had parked immediately in front of our house the night before and was still there. It was also pouring rain so the muck was all over the front street again and our quasi sidewalk. The cement company intimidated my driver to the point of almost driving away but I convinced him to at least get the 2 tubs off the truck first as my paid plumbers were on the way to install them. We worked as quickly as we could with 5 cement employees standing by- watching while we struggled in the muck to not slip while trying to get the tubs down the slope and to the back door because we weren't allowed to walk on the new cement driveway which had been inconveniently poured 1 day before. My driver then drove away with the remaining fixtures and it is now on me to pay for another delivery. At this point it's safe to say the the "after care" with Sterling is hugely lacking and I wouldn't actually recommend buying a home from them. I'm glad we had Jerry for our experience as he was a saving grace.
