Finishes are nice but construction crews should pay more attention to quality carpentry. Several touch ups needed due to lack of paying attention to detail. A bit more care during construction would go a long way towards a better experience. Also they need to do a better job of listening to buyer’s requests. Mine were communicated many times and still were not followed. This causes more work for me.
Quality of experience with landmark homes
Purchase cycle was good for us. We would have liked to have been able to pick some of the finishings but these had been determined months prior to our viewing. Some finishings that were described in the sales brochure were not included, such as the cut out shelf for toiletries in the bathroom shower tiles. The kitchen sink fawcett was non-funtional as installed and we replaced at our own expense rather than awaiting a plumbing workaround. The promised dimmer switches don't work and we hope will be replaced shortly. We had a serious scare with the master shower door sticking due to a loose install of the bottom water gasket on the door surround. Generally, we are very happy with our home, we like the added bonus of a trial membership at the Fox Hill Resort.
Our Landmark representative, Mike made such a positive difference! Information, communication and friendliness made our absentee buyer as pleasant as possible. Kody and Jake at the condo property were also extremely helpful in many aspects!
We purchased a Rock the Block house. We have found many examples of shortcuts and shoddy workmanship in the house. Including questionable quality in the oven which was a low quality Chinese oven with terrible reviews which we had to replace. We also had a blackstone grill that was installed improperly and started a fire on the porch we had to put out with a hose. The Landmark contractors have been responsive in addressing most of the problems we identified. But when we pay 3million for a house we expect more attention to detail.
The home is wonderful and we're extremely happy with our decision to purchase. The snow removal provided by the HOA and attempts to remedy the standing water outside the building were really impressive. (Water didn't drain well) Responsiveness/communication on items that need attention could be better, but overall we're really happy.
Finding and closing on our new condo was a quick experience. We are detailed people and our many questions and issues were immediately resolved. We felt personally cared for and listened to by all the different parties we interacted with. It was notable that one of the company presidents made the effort to meet us at the closing. Every step has been a positive experience for us.
there are so many areas where home builder had bare minimum to complete work with expected quality. Simple items completed badly, with such mistakes where I think installation/construction was done in a hurry or with very low professional level. Cannot imagine professionals can deliver such level of quality intentionally. In last 2.5 month I have ongoing communication with Landmark about various fixes, some of them have to be fixed twice, some are yet resolved. For example: you would expect the counter tops in the kitchen are installed flat and cut with square corners - not the the case in my new home. Another problem - the temperature of the inner walls in entry foyer can drop up to 40F on cold Colorado day - I have such case in January 24 when outside temperatures dropped 0F. I expect the entry foyer and closet are a living space and temperatures have to be close to normal - at least 60F. I suspect the insulation was not or badly installed, but it could also be a construction deign which was completed with such level of oversight. So, overall I am very disappointed with the delivered quality and professionalism of the builder.
My 30 day walk through was very disappointing. I requested the painters to come and fix the paint job as they missed a bunch of spots after the walk through. They never showed up. I’m currently very upset with the paint job in the interior of my home and no one has contacted me to reschedule the painters. Very disappointing
