More than once in the middle of a shower, just a single person taking a single shower (dishwasher wasn't running, washing machine wasn't running, etc.) suddenly the hot water cuts out. I found if you turn off the hot water completely, count to 15, then turn it back on, it will begin to work again. At first I thought the device couldn't keep up but now I'm thinking it's on some kind of timer. All I know is it's very disconcerting to be in the middle of a shower and have the water suddenly go cold.

My unit has been installed and running now for about 2 months. I like the fact that I am not heating water all the time as in a 50 gallon unit and my Rinnai unit has been working great since it was installed. I do wish that I could get the temperature up above 120 degrees F. I read in the manual that there is a dip switch change that allows this but it would not go above 120.

Hot water takes over one minute to arrive at faucets. During shower or at kitchen faucet if you slightly turn down hot water it goes completely cold for 30 seconds or more before it eventually gets hot. This is extremely annoying!
Have had system for about 3+ months and enjoy the unlimited availability of hot water for showers, especially when more than one person is showering at the same time. System in the garage had a minor gas leak but I was able to get the utility company rep. to repair it quickly ( he happened to be down the street). Works fine now.

It does not provide enough hot water for 2 simultaneous showers although that's what we were specifically promised by the salesman for the installer, Morris-Jenkins, at a cost of several thousand dollars. If even a sink faucet is turned on, the shower flow is noticeably less.
I had high hopes for this system, but the best I can say is that it has been inconsistent for us. We needed to get a re-circulator because it was taking up to 5 minutes for hot water to get to some parts of our 2400 s.f. house. Even now, there are still times we have to wait for the water to be fully hot. I am not going lower than a 3 rating, because I don't know if the problem has as much to do with the way it was installed and/or the piping system in our house (Which has one floor added from what was already there)
Amazing pre and post sales technical support. Staff was able to help me understand features, install considerations, and size the unit. Have had the unit roughly 6 months. It provides consistent and unlimited hot water to a household of 6. Have one unit that I used to replace two hot water tanks. Unit is providing substantial cost savings over previous setup.
