Review of Overall Experience

Our experience started off amazingly with Rylee and Pierre. From securing our lot, to making all the construction selections- they were extremely responsive, personable and knowledgeable. I am a realtor and my husband is a cabinet maker, so we do know that we were extra high touch clients that wanted the most out of our home. For me, things went sideways at our selections appointment. I think that 3 hours is not enough time to choose everything. I brought my own designer in and was so thankful for that because I felt our designer did not give much guidance or helpful information and didn't fully understand our vision- she was more of just a yes person. Then months after choosing everything, I got a call that our quartz wasn't available and I needed to come pick a new one the next day.. this was incredibly stressful as we had the same quartz throughout our whole house and I had already purchased furniture etc and made decisions based on our selections. I basically had a meltdown because I hated all the other options and said the only was we'd be happy is if we got a seriously upgraded slab and new backsplash at no cost... miraculously 2 hours later- they had found our original quartz. It is clear that they took it from someone else or something happened there but it was such unnecessary stress. Then comes the railing issue.. we did our walkthrough and I noticed the difference in the railing vs our white oak cabinets. Long of the short- I brought this concern up and was given the run around for 2 weeks. Felt like you guys were going to do something about it. What was told to us in the selections appointment is that it would be white oak and would match the cabinets. It was actually red oak or a not as quality oak that they put the same stain on so it looks incrredibly different. We were told we'd be presented with options at our 2 week before possession walkthrough, only to show up and have the construction manager tell us he is not aware of any options. (He was great by the way, miscommunication was not his fault and he was amazing). I finally got a call from Kendall I believe after I sent an email saying how upset we were. She basically told me that it was our fault for making that selection and Brookfield wouldn't do anything. That was the last taste in our mouth come possession and it was really unfortunate. No rebate for the cost of the upgrade, no offer to fix it. No compensation whatsoever for something we are very unhappy with. As a realtor I saw a lot of room for improvement in the process. It is so automated and not personal. It would have been nice to have a sales person hand over the keys on possession and make it special for us and I think your gift baskets could use an update. We love the house, its beautiful but I feel like we had to work overtime to make sure that happened. Awesome construction but the process from sales to completion feels disconnected in my opinion.
