Show home representative was very responsive and help full but overall workmanship is little poor, we feel detailing/ finishing of home not accurate. Still some missing for install even that is minor like wash room towel hanger not about what it is about responsibility from builder, very difficult to contact right person except Sheila.

Overall very happy with the build. A few small deficiencies that needed to be fixed which was a bit frustrating to organize with numerous different contractors to come on several different dates to fix. Had to take a lot of time off work to attend and allow the contractors to work.

We decided to go with Coventry Homes due to their strong reputation in Edmonton and the wide range of customization options they provide. Their floorplans, upgrade selections, and overall build vision aligned well with what we were looking for in our home. Here’s a polished version with that included: We chose Coventry Homes because of their reputation in Edmonton and the customization options available. Their floorplans and finishing selections aligned well with what we were looking for. Throughout the process, Peter, the Area Sales Manager, and Brendan, the Site Superintendent, were truly amazing — professional, responsive, and supportive at every stage. They made the experience much smoother and more reassuring for us.

Pros : Build quality seems high when looking at quality of structure, framing, and finishing. Big plus is the amount of detail Coventry provided with the internal walkthrough prior to client walkthrough. They flagged many things I would not have noticed. Sales team communication (Vanja/Madison) was exceptional Designs team were very insightful and provided excellent recommendations. Cons: Internal scheduling is a very large opportunity. Coventry seems ok to under deliver on timelines. All delays I observed were administrative and could have been avoided saving Coventry money and provided a better customer experience. These delays caused significant undue stress to customer planning and cost. ex. My shingles sat on top of the roof for over a month. Hardie board siding took ~ 6 weeks start to finish when I see my neighbors house (twice the size) get sided in 6 days. Rough grading had several weeks it could have been completed but has not been done. Customer portal is not updated, missing info, and generally useless. As Coventry attempts to enter the "Custom" home builder status they need to remember that they are hired to build the customers home, they are not building their home, so if the customer has a plan or wants some detail they should be working towards finding a solution vs a reason why they cannot do this. This separates home builders from custom home builders. Several occasions I was told that very simple things could not be done. ie I asked for an electrical outlet in a garage floor but was told they would not do this because of potential warranty claims. Finishings in the top tier elevation are not super premium and there was a lack of options. ex toilets are very cheap and look like Coventry is trying to use their economy of scale to benefit their bottom line vs the customer. Moen shower cores are known to fail easily yet its the default product for Coventry? Upgrade pricing was clearly designed to discourage or gouge when looking at garage heaters and ac units and Delta fixtures. Biggest Con. My garage floor is terrible. Larger spider cracks due to corners cut and using an in-situ cutting product vs tool or saw cutting. Slope is 2-3 x acceptable levels. Edges were not put in well, hand wipe was done quickly and poorly as seen by the flipped stones and generally just a poor finish. I would have preferred a polished floor, flat, with drains and sediment pit, saw cut but none of this was ever discussed or brought up. Showroom garage floor was totally different finish than what we recieved. Overall I find that Coventry is an upper tier general builder trying to compete with high end custom builders, doing a fairly good job adjusting to the higher demands of a better product while balancing scale and growth. There are significant administrative opportunities and Coventry should avoid pitfalls of accepting industry standards as their benchmarks. ie it seems like the entire building industry is ok with a 1-2 month delay in delivery. Why not schedule correctly and over deliver or at least promise an on time delivery.
