Overall, the buying process was good at the time of buying the lot and contract. Sale executive team was excellent throughout the process of building. Given first time building a new home, we did not know the process and when and what we need to mention about what we wanted, whether in design, selection process etc. We discuss about having an arch panel to inside the house during the design discussion but when went to see the house first time, there was no arch, they mention that we should have done at the design time and it was not included and we cannot make the change. Our saleperson was try her best but was declined by the managers at main office at CCH . We are asked to change the arch after possession, as they cannot change. Similarly, the deck was completely closed and there are no steps to get down to the backyard. When we asked to add the steps, they all mention that we should do after possession with different contractor. They have sent the possession date earlier than we were expecting. We have requested delay for possession as we are out of country, but we are asked to sign and pay the penalty for late possession. The frustrating part of the possession was many things were not completed even at the time of possession despite late possession - e.g attic insulation, some leaks in the window, there is no weatherproof in the garage at time of possession, and it is still not completed even after 40 days of possession during winter season. Similarly, one of the furnaces was not working at the day of possession, fortunately they were quick to call the furnace guy and fix on the same day. I would suggest future new home builder to go through steps in each of the process, take time and do not be in a hurry, especially in design phase, discuss each room and interior decor. If you are having a deck, make sure you need steps to get to yard.
