I have a natural spring on my lot, this was disclosed a few weeks AFTER my closing date. Once the water began to stream across driveway and alongside the curb in front of my house and the neighbor's house, I became concerned and did not know why this was happening (I assumed faulty grading of yard or sprinkler system issue). An "attempted" repair was completed in March and currently the natural spring has a constant flow, that has not slowed down, and there is heavy algae buildup. The water is flowing in front of my driveway and the neighbor's driveway, it is a constant flow and very disturbing to look at, one of my close friend's called it an "eye sore". This water streaming onto my drive began the day before I closed and several weeks later I found out from the Construction Manager it was a natural spring on my lot. This was not disclosed prior to closing, otherwise, I would have selected a different house/lot. In addition, they did not do a proper fix to retain the water (e.g. a dry well or sump pump, etc). I have contacted an attorney for RCLA/Deceptive Trade Practice Act clauses and sent a demand letter to the DFW corporate office. This was a wrongful act by Meritage homes and it did tarnish my home buying experience as a first time home buyer. I cannot recommend them to future buyers do to this. Very unfortunate experience. In addition, submitting 1st year warranty claims to the portal are instantly denied by their warranty staff, it is as if they find every reason to not correct issues they created.

Our overall experience with Meritage Homes has been excellent. From the very beginning, the staff has been professional, friendly, and genuinely invested in making sure we were happy with our home. Any questions or issues that came up were addressed quickly and thoroughly, which gave us a lot of confidence throughout the process. The quality of the home itself is outstanding. The construction feels solid, the finishes are well done, and the overall layout is thoughtfully designed for day-to-day living. We’ve been especially impressed with the included features—things like energy-efficient systems, modern appliances, and smart design choices that make the home both comfortable and practical. Communication has been clear and consistent at every stage, from sales to construction to closing. We always felt informed about what was happening and what to expect next. Everyone we worked with was responsive, respectful, and willing to go the extra mile to make sure details were handled properly. Overall, we’re very pleased with both the home and the company behind it. Meritage Homes has delivered great quality, strong customer service, and a home we’re proud to live in. We would gladly recommend them to others.

Me and my wife recently bought a home in LakeHaven by Meritage homes. We loved the entire process from the outside with the loan officer & realtor to the inside with Bryan & the builder Thomas, they were both a huge help throughout the entire process, and after. We are going to recommend Meritage home to any of our friends who are looking for a forever home.

The Meritage team made the entire home buying experience pleasant and smooth from start to finish. Rod was extremely helpful throughout the buying process, always answering questions quickly and making sure everything stayed on track. Thomas was also very attentive when preparing the home for move-in and made sure everything was ready and taken care of. Their professionalism, communication, and customer service truly made a difference.
