Builder left trash everywhere when they said they would clean it, going to make this viral Didnt mention semis would come by every few days blaring the horn to have workers move their vehicle, the hold the horn for 30 seconds straight and when we went outside to tell the garbage truck to stop, he opened the door and said this is what the builder insteucted us to do because his workers park in front of the dumpsters Wrong hoa price given to us Wrong design layout Prices kept changing Didnt get hoa done without being asked Worse house buying experience ever, would highly highly recommended you do not make a half a million dollar mistake dealing with these people VA benefits never explained Took 9 days to get HOI answer Closing documents sent wrong 3x in a row Met the builder Dan and they mentioned that even though the concrete is broken and it was their fault, they arent going to be able to do anything about it or fix it because its part of the foundation. I brought a flashlight to inspect the paint on the walls since they put such a thin amount of pain on these walls, the stucco and dark colors or primer underneath bleed through virtually everywhere Spicy comment made by the builder saying” Were not ganna be here all day inspecting the house with a flashlight” Microwave, garvage disposal, and garage werent hooked up on the agreed upon date of our home inspection therefore we paid $600 for a home inspection that couldnt be completed because Meritage wasnt ready on time as discussed. Fridge was not only used but replaced wrong twice They had to use extended striker plates on the doors of the house cause they cant build the doors straight so we have to suffer with metal plates sticking out of our doors. This was not addressed during closing and only found out after we moved in which should be illegal Every mailbox, power converter, and street signs are littered in grafftti and the only group of people in the area are hispanic. Everyday its been more trashed on our property and it flys all over our new yard, the new people moving in are in for a surpise and the HOA board should lose it once they see this. Doors in home were installed incorrectly, workers parking in front of our house. so the fix was to put extended striker plates on instead of holding the workers accountable for building a house that wasnt straight. However as you can imagine these workers arent professional builders with certificates, this is cheap hispanic labor thats all. Everything has went wrong since day 1, his workers were using our brand new fridge as a community fridge and they got caught by our home inspector and still tried to just clean the fridge and have us keep it!!! My co-worker Camerin was about to buy in the same location and I had to tell hik not to do it. Honestly social media needs to see this for people whos interested when you purchasing from Mertiage so they can see what they are getting. $500’000 and my mailbox is full of grafftti on day 1 of moving in, loud trucks and people partying at the park, and now a dog who lives right behind my house barking at 5am when I work nightshift. I could not construct a worst case scenario. This is an absolute nightmare and I wondering if I contact the VA and tell then Ive been lied too purchasing this home that perhaps they can help. We didnt get new applicanes as stated, we didnt get everything fixed they said they would. This has been the most expensive purchase of my life and the absolute worst experience possible.

While the home itself is well built, the experience with the in-house lender is why our rating will be low. It was the worst home buying experience we have been a part of & between the 2 of us, we have purchased several properties.

I had an overall positive experience with Meritage Homes throughout the home buying process. I would especially like to recognize Mario Salas and Mauricio for their outstanding customer service, professionalism, and dedication. They were always responsive, patient, and willing to answer and questions, making the entire process much smoother and less stressful. I especially appreciated the energy-efficient features and modern design elements that come standard in the home. While there were a few minor issues that naturally come with new construction, Mario was attentive and worked diligently to address concerns and provide updates along the way. Overall , I am very pleased with the quality of my home and support I received from the Meritage team. Thanks to Mario and Mauricio, my home-buying experience was a positive one, and I would gladly recommend Meritage Homes to anyone looking to purchase a new home.
