Review of Overall Experience
Overall, we had a good experience. We really liked our salesperson, Dustin. He was extremely helpful in all the areas he could be. We were also very pleased with our builder, Kevin. The things that were not good were: 1. The experience at the design center 2. The electrician 3. There was nothing to look at for our floor plan, no model nor online help. We felt like we were designing our house blindly. 4. There were too many features in the house that were upgrades, they should have been standard. We went over budget by thousands of dollars. For example, a fireplace and master bathtub should be standard features. We chose not to add a master bathtub because we thought $5000 was ridiculous. Another thing we aren’t happy about is the dishwasher. It is a very cheap base model. We would have paid extra to have an upgrade with a stainless tub not plastic. Now we will be replacing it with a new one. We were also very rushed through the whole process. Buying a $650,000 retirement home is a HUGE deal, and we don’t feel like the process should have been rushed so much. There were things we didn’t know about that couldn’t be changed before we closed on the house. They said it was too late. Mainly, the concern is with the electrician, he was new. We added electrical outlets (paid for) that weren’t necessary because he told us the wrong number. Also, we added a floor outlet in my husband’s office but not in the family room because we didn’t know there wasn’t one in that room. When we found out there wasn’t one in there, we were told it was too late to add one. The electrician should have suggested it. Also we added 2 windows in our bedroom that weren’t necessary and we wish they were not there now. We had no idea that there would be too many windows when we added (paid extra for) them. That was because we had no clue what it would look like in the bedroom. So overall, Pacesetter is a good builder. They just need to improve a few things.

The prohomes people don’t respond and I’ve had to hire contractors to fix things and I’ve lived here less than 30 days
