Liked Most

I liked the floor plan personalization and the ability to design the floor plan to our needs. The color and options selection was good as well. The construction superintendent was very attentive, communicated well, kept us informed of the schedule the entire way. He was extremely professional and even though the contractors did not do a quality job, he was so easy to work with and communicate with.

Would Change

The building process was a terrible experience. Our construction superintendent was very caring, attentive to our concerns, but took way too much work on our part to have our concerns addressed and could only say “this is Tilson’s process”. The majority contractors used by Tilson are subpar, do not do quality work and some of them had to come back more than three times to address poor quality work. It should not have taken the number of requests to have issues corrected, nor should it have taken as much inspection on our part to ensure a quality job. The framers on our home did terrible work and had to come back multiple times to correct things. Nails sticking out of siding and trim, siding cut incorrectly, saw marks in siding, hammer marks in the siding and multiple other items done with shoddy workmanship. The painters were not much better. I also do not like the way the sales person did not explain the foundation process well. We asked multiple times for more detail and she essentially blew us off with sales talk.

The superintendent (Kurt J) was very polite and easy to work with but always busy and disconnected many projects are still pending like a Kitchen island panel damaged, window missing trim,

Would Change

The sales person was never available as soon as I handed over the 20% down I never spoke to her again she was never available I had many questions no one followed up with me no one explained anything the business office was never available or out on vacation the whole process was over a year and even after closing three months a lot of things are still not complete it a Lotta unnecessary expenses at some point I felt like it was a money pit the finance company was not updating me on anything, Every aspect was a horrible experience and I would never recommend Tilson to anyone I know
