They did a good job keeping us abreast of progress and issues and were responsive enough to issues we brought to their attention. There were a couple of things that they should definitely correct going forward such as not placing the attic dropdown stairs 1" from one wall a foot from the other. They should have also cleaned up the attic of trash and leftover scraps of wood and spray foam and such.
Throughout the entire process, lots of non communication and lack of response to my concerns and questions from Tilson occurred. There was never much rush to take care of me, the customer.

Fundamental design of the house is as expected. However, the laundry room is much smaller than we had hoped. We were disappointed in the timing of the installation of the cabinetry and the flooring. For a period of at least four months after the flooring was installed, construction was still on-going indoors while dirt, sand & various metal objects were tracked throughout the house not to mention paint spray and stain drippings, damaging the floor. The cabinetry showed signs of manufacturing flaws as well as installation sloppiness. Since cabinets were installed about seven months while continued construction was in progress, they also suffered damage from other contractors. We did not receive the final copy of floor plans to sign off on, which showed railing on the front porch while our copy did not. After partial install, the railing had to be removed. The construction supervisor has been most helpful in efforts to resolves these issues after inheriting some of these problems from a previous supervisor. Our belief is that if these problems were prevented from occurring in the first place and the general workmanship from framing to finish work were better, it would result in less expense, work, delay and frustration for all concerned.
Eli was fantastic to work with. He always kept us up to date on what was going on and he always kept his crews on time. He was quick to answer questions and explained everything well.
The designer did not document every detail we wanted only to discover during construction a different type of design than what we thought we chose. The quality of workmanship from the contractors is very poor especially on the painting, doors, base boards, kitchen cupboards.
The lack of attention and communication from the Tilson team was very poor beginning with the sales department. Our project took 2 years to complete and during this time, we coined the phrase 'Tilson Two-Step' because for every 2 things Tilson completed, one (if not both) needed to be redone.
