Review of Overall Experience

Initially we were very excited when we bought the property, we felt we got great value for what we paid. Jeff was great dealing with on the purchase of the home. Our initial dealing with the site supervisor Robin was a little disappointing. We schedule our first walk through in June with Robin before insulation and drywall. We arrived at the walk through a few minutes early and waited about 15 minutes with no one showing up. We emailed and called but no answer and eventually got a hold of Jeff who did the walk through with us. I'm sure if we did not get a hold of Jeff, no one would have showed up at all. At the walk through we noticed a few items that were not completed and asked if they would be completed before the possession date and we were told on numerous occasions that these would be completed. We were hoping to get some updates as the construction process progressed as we needed to sell our current home as well and wanted to get the timing as close as possible to minimize the amount of time we would not have a place to live since we just had the birth of our first child in March 2024. Unfortunately we were never given great responses other than you'll hear from our office 35 days prior or no response at all. We did escalate our concerns to upper management at Broadview and then we got much better updates on our construction progress and anticipated possession date. On our walk through one week prior to possession date, we indicated to them that the items we spoke about in our first walk through that they ensure to us would be completed were not completed. This was very disappointing as I felt everyone from Broadview we talked to about the conduit being installed would be completed prior to possession. Eventually this was installed after we moved in but the retrofit was not completed very well and it is still to be finished. Since being in the house we are happy with it but the construction process was not very enjoyable for us and we probably would not do a new build again.
