We had a smooth and informational experience with Meritage Homes, it was not until we met with Carefree Title that we were met with unprofessionalism and disrespect.

Review of Overall Experience

There was no communication from Meritage Homes staff. I had to reach out for updates on the home. We were not contacted for a walk thru prior to the closing, which was moved several times. I had to call and ask about the walk thru which was finally scheduled for the day before the closing. I paid for an inspector to check the house and the ac/heat was missing a part, which we were not advised of until he got there so the closing had to be moved again. The staff tried to convince me to close even though the ac/heat was not working. They knew I had to take time off from work and travel for the closing. I had to leave the home empty for a month because I had to trave back to work and the help I had arranged based on the closing date I was given, was no longer available. I was promised I would be reimbursed for my airline ticket and they did not keep that promise. I had also asked to change lenders and I never heard back from Meritage and because of timing was forced to use Meritage's lender. This has been the most stressful experience.
